Where Are TD Ameritrade Offices Located?

With all the online trading going on these days, most people forget that some brokers have physical office branches. With TD Ameritrade, just going through some online reviews, you would find many customers complaining about the lack of physical offices. However, this is not the case. That TD Ameritrade is an electronic trading platform does not mean they do not have physical offices.

So, where are TD Ameritrade offices located? TD Ameritrade has offices in all US states except Montana, Mississippi, Wyoming, West Virginia, South Dakota, and North Dakota. In all other states where the broker has a presence, they have at least one branch. However, TD Ameritrade only has eight corporate locations in Omaha (NE), Southlake (TX), Jersey City (NJ), Ann Arbor (MI), San Diego (CA), Chicago (IL), Denver (CO), and St. Louis (MO).  Finally, TD Ameritrade has an international office in Hong Kong and another in Singapore.

In this article, I will go over where the TD Ameritrade headquarters is located, how you can find the TD Ameritrade branch nearest to you, and lots more.

Where are TD Ameritrade’s headquarters?

The TD Ameritrade corporate headquarters is located at 200 South 108th Avenue Omaha, NE 68154. Since TD Ameritrade was founded in Omaha and was previously known as Omaha Security, it is not surprising that the corporate headquarters is still in Omaha. The principal building is located in 53,500 square feet of property and supports over 2,000 employees at a time.

However, since Charles Schwab acquired TD Ameritrade in 2019, there have been rumors that the current TD Ameritrade corporate headquarters will soon be changed. There isn’t a lot of information on the subject. Nevertheless, in October 2020, Charles Schwab indicated that it would be moving to its new campus in Westlake, Texas. Therefore, it only stands to follow that if Charles Schwab and TD Ameritrade are to merge, the new TD Ameritrade headquarters would also be in Westlake, Texas.

Where are TD Ameritrade’s trading centers?

If you are familiar with stock trading online, you would know that all trades are actually executed at the brokers’ trading centers on behalf of the customer. With TD Ameritrade, there are two trading centers. The main center is in St. Louis, Missouri, and another in Southlake, Texas.

Of course, these trading centers do not only execute trades initiated online by customers. Considering TD Ameritrade also takes orders via a phone system and other broker-assisted deals, the trading centers carry all out.

How many locations does TD Ameritrade have?

Currently, TD Ameritrade has over 275 different locations. However, before 2018, TD Ameritrade did not have this many physical locations. In 2017, however, TD Ameritrade acquired Scottrade, another online brokerage firm, with its over 500 locations. By 2019, some of those locations had been closed down, and the others converted to TD Ameritrade locations.

How do I find the TD Ameritrade office nearest to me?

To find the TD Ameritrade office branch nearest to you, all you need to do is visit the website; At the right top corner of the homepage, you will find the menu option. Click on that. One of the options there is to Find a Branch. When you click the Find a Branch option, you can then search by city, state, or zip code. You can also search within a specific radius for all the offices within that area.

Alternatively, if you want to view all the cities TD Ameritrade has a presence in and check out the branches in each city, all you have to do is scroll down on the same page.

Are these walk-in offices? What can I do in a TD Ameritrade office?

Yes. The TD Ameritrade branch offices do not necessarily need you to pre-book an appointment to visit. When you visit any TD Ameritrade office, you can meet with specialists who help you understand TD Ameritrade’s products and design an investment plan. At the branch offices, you could also open new accounts and deposit mobile checks.

Alternatively, you can always call any branch you intend to visit before going to book an appointment. Of course, when you call ahead, the specialists can always prepare specifically to meet your needs.

Are TD Ameritrade offices open? When can I visit?

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns in the United States, most TD Ameritrade offices have remained closed since March 2020. However, branches have now begun to open, and most now accept walk-in traffic. Of course, all business is still conducted safely to ensure all clients and customers remain safe at branch offices.

Generally, all branch offices are open from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm every Monday to Friday.

What is the difference between a corporate location and an ordinary branch?

Most ordinary branches are equipped to deal directly with the customers. The branch offices exist mainly to connect the broker to its customers or intending customers. Like we mentioned earlier, you can easily walk into a branch, sort out issues with your account, and discuss investment plans with specialists.

On the other hand, corporate locations mostly deal with administrative responsibilities for the whole company and other internal processes to ensure all things continue smoothly. Core operations, software improvement, and brokerage operations are more likely to be related to corporate locations.

Why does TD Ameritrade have international locations?

TD Ameritrade’s international locations in Hong Kong and Singapore were started to help customers in the region trade the US markets. At these locations, the company caters to customers and performs other core operations in the same venue.

Can I also visit Charles Schwab offices for things related to TD Ameritrade?

I mentioned this earlier in the article, and you have probably heard that Charles Schwab has now acquired TD Ameritrade. This means that the previously separate and distinct brokerage firms will now become one. This might make you wonder if you could visit Charles Schwab locations when you want TD Ameritrade. Well, not just yet.

Although the merger has been announced and is now a done deal, it would probably take another 24 months for the process to be complete and for the merge to take full effect. For now, Charles Schwab and TD Ameritrade are still separate firms. When the merger is finally done, there would be more information on this.
