My name is Marvin. I am on a path toward financial freedom. On this blog, I share thoughts and ideas on Personal & Financial Freedom.

I started this blog because I believe that money is just a means to an end: to be free to spend your time as you wish, to maximize your positive impact on the world.
“There isn’t time, so brief is life, for bickerings, apologies, heartburnings, callings to account. There is only time for loving, and but an instant, so to speak, for that.”
― Mark Twain
Education
I continue to constantly educate myself about personal finance and investing by reading all the books I can find on the topic. Some of my current reads include:
- Money: Master the Game by Tony Robbins
- The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham
- The Little Book of Common Sense Investing by Jack Bogle
- Capitalism and Freedom by Milton Freedman
- The Simple Path To Wealth by J.L. Collins
- Your Money or Your Life by Vicky Robins, Joe Dominguez
On the more formal side of education, I have completed a B.Sc. with a major in Social Sciences and a minor in Business & Management at Tilburg University.
I’ve also studied Business & Marketing at BI Norwegian Business School for one semester during my Erasmus program.
Currently, I’m on the path of becoming a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) by preparing for the Series 65 exam.
Projects I’m Working On
Writing and reading about finance-related topics is currently my #1 obsession. Becoming financially free and not depending on anyone or any job to make a good living is the primary goal I am focused on.
In order to achieve this, I have started investing in real estate crowdfunding properties with Holdfolio and other syndicators. I also maintain and regularly add to a balanced stock and bond portfolio which I manage with M1 Finance. Recently, crypto investing has piqued my interest and I have broadly diversified a small amount of my net worth into crypto.
I’m also in the process of finishing up a Civil Law degree and commencing a Common Law degree in 2021. This, along with my secondary education, will hopefully allow me to gain an even broader perspective on the world of personal and financial freedom.
Until then, take care,
Marvin
